our story
Hello and welcome to our shop! We seek out the very finest furniture, lighting and homeware from our favourite British and Scandinavian brands alongside producing our own in-house collections too. We carefully consider every item in our shop; hand picking pieces that have been thoughtfully designed, are made from top quality materials and those that we'd happily have in our own home.
Emily Mayne has worked in the design and interior industry for the last 17 years and has always had an ambition to start up on her own. It’s been on her ‘someday’ list for some time. Specialising in furniture and lighting, Emily has worked as a senior buyer for well known department stores in the UK as well as consulting as a retail and design expert for a number of interior boutiques in Australia.
As a London based brand, Emily was proud to launch her first sofa collection at designjunction during London Design Festival 2017. Here she introduced her made to order sofa collections, each with their own distinctive look and style.
Most recently Emily launched Case Pendant - someday's latest in-house design created in collaboration with Vitamin. This minimal E27 drop pendant is handmade in the UK from glazed earthenware ceramic; creating a beautiful textured and tactile quality. Case Pendant was first showcased at Maison & Objet '18.
Emily loves to support and collaborate with both new and established brands. Each design partner is thoughtfully selected, working only with those that share a similar relaxed, understated and minimal design aesthetic and who reflect the values of her approach - a focus on quality craftsmanship and timeless design.
“Our vision is a total-living approach, we aim to bring you beautiful, well-made pieces to suit your home and life”.
Having produced lighting and furniture for the last decade, Emily appreciates the amount of thought, care and love that goes into each design and this forms part of her philosophy.
Behind every piece is a person, whether that be the designer or the maker. So it’s important for her to share the stories of each design partner and their inspiration, bringing you the tale behind each piece.
someday designs is also open to trade professionals including interior designers, architects, decorators and specifiers to source furniture and lighting packages for residential and commercial projects.
Emily lives in Greenwich with her husband Paul and two sons Teddy and Flynn.
